“People ask me if there are going to be stories of Harry Potter as an adult. Frankly, if I wanted to, I could keep writing stories until Harry is a senior citizen, but I don’t know how many people would actually want to read about a 65 year old Harry still at Hogwarts playing bingo with Ron and Hermione.” -J.K. Rowling

Reblog if you love to write.

Whether it be fanfiction, original stories, drabbles, songs, poems, books, or anything that has to do with creative words, then reblog. Let’s gather all the writers of Tumblr together.

"Start telling the stories that only you can tell, because there’ll always be better writers than you and there’ll always be smarter writers than you. There will always be people who are much better at doing this or doing that—but you are the only you… There are better writers than me out there, there are smarter writers, there are people who can plot better—there are all those kinds of things, but there’s nobody who can write a Neil Gaiman story like I can."

kikiarty:

what i mean when i call a character perfect is “wow look at how flawed you are, how broken and three dimensional and well written. look how much of a disaster you are and how you are constantly torn between right and wrong and you make so many mistakes along the way wow look how human you are”

so basically when i say they are perfect what i mean is thank god they aren’t

There’s going to be a lot of one particular color that you’re going to see A LOT. You’re going to see it maybe on microphones and on finger nails and shoes and on like lights and stuff and all kinds of stuff and you might wonder to yourself, “man that’s a lot of one color, whats with the one color?” and I will explain it to you now! The way I see emotions in my head, I kinda compare them to colors, like for me, blue is sad. To me, like um yellow and gold, that’s comfort and warmth. There’s this one color that defines a lot of the emotions that I’ve been writing about lately. Really great emotions like frustrations, anger, jealousy, falling in love, falling out of love, heartbreak. All that good stuff, and you know, I wrote about that stuff so much that I even named an entire album after it, and I even went so far as to name an entire world tour after it. Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, the colors that defines the emotions that shape us, that teach us things.

“The odd thing is, Harry, that it may not have meant you at all. Sibyll’s prophecy could have applied to two wizard boys, both born at the end of July that year, both of whom had parents in the Order of the Phoenix, both sets of parents having narrowly escaped Voldemort three times. One, of course, was you. The other was Neville Longbottom.”  -Albus Dumbledore
